Tyre size help

What size, make, design, pressure? Who can stretch tyres? Tuck, rake, poke. Coilovers, roll (sway) bars, strut braces (tie bars), air-ride, hydraulics, camber plates/spherical bearings?

Tyre size help

Postby cZm » 11 Jul 2014 14:02

Hi all

I need some advice on tyre size/stretch for my new wheel choice

I am looking for a mild stretch, nothing major.

I have just hooked up a set of VW Atheos 19x 9J wheels and am trying to decide on what size to go for.

I was thinking 225/40/19 would be the ideal size for a little stretch but then I was wondering about going to 225/35/19. Would the 35’s be too much stretch (due to lack of side wall??)
I know alot will depend on the brand of tyre so just getting a general opinion - although I will prob go with Falken.
Thanks for your help.
