Where can I get a 12-point star key to disassemble my BBS?

Postby yellow95 » 12 Nov 2007 17:53

My OE Volvo rims are made by BBS and have 20 bolts in each. The bolts appear to be 12 point but I cant find a bit or a key. Anyone know where to find one?

Most helpful tool retailers should be able to put you straight. if you take the car if the wheels are still on it, or just one wheel and let them look at it they'll get you a bit to fit it.
Don't pay over the odds for a bit that someone is saying is the proper tool as plenty of manufacturers will make somethin to fit. :D

yep, i just used standard halfords 4 and 10mm 3/8in drive sockets, no probs even on a set that probably hadnt been split since they were made in the 80s.

had to buy some male spline bits for another set of rims, got a whole set of 1/2in ddrive bits on a rail from halfrauds.
cheers,

harry

Most good tool shops should have them. Decided to try my luck with a local one (I was able to walk to it from home) and they had M8 and M10 in stock. $6AUD each! That's like what, 2 pounds?! And the night before I was contemplating purchasing from Titanium Touch too!

Just use a hex socket set to undo the nuts on the back of the RC041s
