Polishing Bolts

How to split and rebuild them. Where to find spares. Want gold bolts, wider rims, flat caps etc.

Here is what they look like before polishing (clear-coat removed).

To add some information about the bolts, I'm using paint stripper to remove the paint. After that I mix some citric acid with rust removal stuff and coke, and I'm not talking about drugs

If you prepare your bolts for chroming, it's probably best to keep them in some kind of oil to prevent the rust happening.

I suggest chroming that style 5 bolts if they are steel and not stainless steel or any other stainless material.

Thanks for the info about chroming, I taught I would be able to keep them bare polish and just use some wheel sealant like the polish lip.

Is there a certain brand of clear coat that should be used?

I thought hand polishing 80 bolts was bad!

Used the product Metal Rescue to remove the rust. Wire brush and sand paper to remove the black anodized. Chucked the bolt in a drill, and polished with mothers mag polish.
