Enkei Evolution RS Split Rim Splitting Guide

Postby stix is200 » 05 Nov 2012 13:57

hello,

Ive bought some Enkei Evoltution RS wheels and i need split them to give them a refurb.

can anyone tell me what tool i need to remove the bolts?

I have some of them out but others are just spinning in the holes.

Picture of the bolt head:

For the love of god please dont say female torx socket! Ive tried every female torx socket i could lay my hands on and none of them work.

The grooves on the bolt head seem the champfered? if that makes sense?

So the top of each groove is 'deeper' than the bottom.

Any ideas please let me know!

Thanks

Stix.

Not 100% confirmed but I am told the socket required to take the bolts off a set of these is 'Torx Plus', which is slightly different to a typical Torx bolt.

Not checked if this is right yet as just ordered a set of sockets, but it came from a reliable source and seems to check out!

I am in the same situation with the Enkei RS Evolution wheels, did you find the correct tool for removing the bolts?

I'm in the same boat. I bought a torx plus bit but it's not the correct shape still. U could bray it on with a hammer and renew the bolts tho but I'd prefer to keep the orig bolts
