HTN wheels : conversion 13-14-15

Postby cedric24 » 07 Oct 2013 14:51

Hello,

I am a big fan of HTN wheels  and have 3 sets but the biggest one is in 14"
please find below some pictures of the wheels

HTN Ks design 8*14 on my 1977 Scirocco

My target will be to go from 14 to15" with new inner and outer lip.
Is somebody of this forum did already made the conversion or know if 14/15 center is the same (HTN did not answer to my question by email and I am not fluent in German  ) ?
Thanks for your help
Regards.

Hi

the HTN Centers fit HTN, BBS and RS-Felgen Lips

The 13" Centers will fit to all 13 14 and 15 Lips.

So it is no problem to change the lips.

If you need somehelp with translation let me know im from germany

you can use HTN Lips

BBS Lips and www.RS-Felgen.de Lips

So you can decide which fit with the price for you

Looks good.
Allways nice when you can keep the same set and change it to bigger.

Hello,
What is your opinion regarding Rsfelgen lips. Should I add tyre during wheels assembly or could I made the assembly and put the tyres at the end ?
thanks :worship:

Dear All,
I try to have a new paint on the centre using epoxy paint (in a 200°C oven) and results looks very bad (mat, no nice apsect)
Is it more dure to the compagny who do this or is it normal ?
did anyone have a better contact/adress/compagny in europe to do this ? :worship:

thanks

Cedric

epoxy paint - You mean powder coating?

If so, then the most important thing is the preparation of the surface because the powder will not fill flat everything if it's not smooth. If You want a shiny/gloss paint then the process should consist of 3 layers of paint (base, paint and clearcoat) - meaning that each center is "baked" 3 times. Without the gloss effect it's only 2 layers. But I believe that any pro workshop will tell You that.

And remember about the ageing process of metal. The older they are - usually but not always - the harder it is to paint them with a really smooth effect using powder coating. Maybe You should try to paint them using traditional technique :D

Thanks for your feed back.
You are right, i was asking for powder coating.
I found a new compagny which propose powder coating with "anodized looks like" powder coating.
Center wheels should arrived back at home next saturday...
I will post some pics of the rebuild next week.
thanks
